Southmont Mountie Families,

As the newly appointed principal of Southmont High School, it is my sincere pleasure and honor to be part of such a respected school corporation. I am looking forward to working with the dedicated staff, administrators, parents, and community members to provide the best possible education for all students at Southmont High School. 

Southmont High School enjoys a rich history of fully preparing its students for life beyond high school. This is a direct result of the partnership between the school staff and parents who provide a diversity of experiences for our students. I feel very fortunate to have been appointed principal at a school where it is evident that the focus is on what is best for the students. 

I have been in the field of education for 15 years. I spent 7 years as a special education teacher in the Vigo County School Corporation in Terre Haute, IN before becoming the Assistant Principal at Fountain Central Jr/Sr High School in 2014. For the last four years, I have held the position of Principal at Fountain Central Jr/Sr High School. I have two girls, Halle, who is 12 and will be a 6th grader, and Harper, who is 6 and will be in Kindergarten. My husband’s name is Bryan and we reside in Terre Haute, IN.

Parents, teachers, support staff, community, and administration all have important roles in encouraging our students to become life-long learners. It is my desire to provide opportunities for our students to acquire the skills necessary to become productive citizens in our changing society. 

Through a close partnership with everyone associated with Southmont High School, I am confident that we will have a successful school year.
